The Merchants House - Palea Perithia
Corfu

The Merchants House is an enchanting luxury guest house set in Corfu's oldest village which is designated as 'a protected heritage site, in an area of outstanding natural beauty'. Just five luxury suites that sleep two adults and a child, as well as a gorgeous twin en-suite garden room. All suites hold original 17th century architectural features, cleverly combined with modern amenities and cooling, mountain views.

It is the quietest area on Corfu and it is the perfect spot to wander and explore the island by day and relax in peace and quiet by night, away from the crowds
Originally, The Merchants House were once three traditional houses, built entirely by hand, which sat side by side with a small path to the rear. The restoration (which was closely monitored by the Archeological Society), began in December 2010.

The furnishings include wrought iron beds and handmade furniture that recreate the Corfiot design of the time. Each suite has its own individual character as well as several ornaments and antiques from that period, marrying centuries of tradition with a modern standard of comfort.

The Merchants House offers guests a private escape to an unspoiled region of the island, set amidst the beautiful combination of countryside and mountains, with a view to both the island?s highest point, and down to the azure blue Ionian Sea.
