Blending seamlessly into the landscape, Gundari takes its aesthetic cues from the ancient tones of the island itself, with majestic ocean views at every turn. Harnessing a wealth of natural materials to craft 27 suites and villas with authentic, Cycladic simplicity, at one with the earth that surrounds them. Designed with intimacy, serenity and elegance in mind, Gundari is the epitome of understated luxury.

It's the latest addition to an eclectic collection of understated luxury resorts that have sprung up on the lesser-know Greek islands. Folegandros is all about relaxation and within that, Gundari takes the art of relaxation to another level. Be prepared for a dusty access road leading you down through the Greek arid landscape to an away from it all location (though the Chora - the island's main town is less than a 10 min drive away). Then when you arrive, you are greeted by a proposition that is out of the ordinary.

The resort's restaurant - Orizon is a gathering space where stories are told, strengthening old connections and fostering new ones, with a striking panorama of sea fused with sky. The bar is designed as a hi-fi listening space, inspired by the Japanese Jazz Kissatens of yesteryear, where music can be enjoyed mindfully with a vinyl only, analogue rich vibe. Poolside, Gundari?s mixologists serve up artisanal concoctions at the swim-up bar so you can submerge blissfully with a cocktail to watch the sun dip below the waves.
