Some come with private verandas, while others display special features or characteristics, such as the preserved portion of an ancient wall in Room 22, an old fireplace which has been restored and now is the dominant decorative feature of Room 38 – or the traditional wooden dome in Room 24.

These suites were created in the older sections of the manor, with ornate Byzantine screens (templa) comprising their most distinctive decorative feature. These templa act as functional dividers separating the bath and changing area from the main room. The old mirrors, comfortable armchairs, warm lighting and small alcoves in the walls all create an atmosphere that is sure to take you back in time.

Whatever suite you choose, it will certainly leave a vivid impression, not only for its comforts but also for its Byzantine décor and details. In olden times when the manor also served a defensive purpose, one of these suites was a jail cell, now transformed into such luxurious quarters that staying longer is the dream and escape a fate to be avoided or postponed. (Byzantine Suite 25).

The remaining Junior Suites, located on the mansion’s upper floor, promise a restful stay among warm earth tones, which provide an interesting contrast with the vivid colours and aromas of the gardens outside.

A special feature of one of these suites (Junior Suite 32) is the impressive Ottoman fireplace, perhaps the oldest in the building, which creates a warm and romantic atmosphere during the chilly nights of winter.

Almost all of these residences feature king-size beds, while several have walk-in wardrobes.

One of the Premium Residences also features an outdoor Jacuzzi on a wooden deck, providing an additional sense of relaxation and well-being (Premium Residence C15).

You will also be surprised to learn that the sitting room of one of these suites was once used as a kitchen by the manor’s owners. This image is reinforced by the restored fireplace and the trap-door which is today located in the suite’s sitting room and which was probably used to facilitate the storage or transfer of food from the old cellar and the olive press (Deluxe Suite 37).

These suites are also impressive on other levels, with their king-size beds and fireplaces, while most of them feature separate sitting rooms or combination living-and-dining areas.

Deluxe Residences on the ground floor offer a private veranda situated among Kinsterna’s lovely flower and vegetable gardens. It’s an incomparable experience having your own garden with a glimpse of the sea – with fresh greens, vegetables and herbs at your disposal for making a tossed salad or some specialty of Mediterranean cuisine. Two of them are really impressive as can be offered – upon request - with an additional double room (inter-connection rooms) for further flexibility and comfort.

The more spacious Deluxe Residence features an outdoor Jacuzzi, while these on the first floor feature a spacious balcony with a stunning view of the Aegean Sea.

During chilly evenings in Spring or Fall – or anytime during the Winter – gather around the villa’s cheerful fireplace and share romantic moments. During balmy weather, host your own evening barbecue or private party by the pool – with the help of Kinsterna’s kitchen staff and waiters. The menu will certainly feature seafood, free-range meat and tasty salads with greens and vegetables fresh from our gardens. And while you savour your delicious dinner and vintage estate wine under Monemvasia’s star-filled night sky, the view from your veranda, past towering cypresses and olive groves to the Aegean Sea in the background, will transform your stay here into a dreamlike experience – and many precious memories.
