Housed in a restored mansion in the historical centre of Hermopolis, the Aristide combines old-world elegance with contemporary design features. The building, with its dramatic marble staircase and Doric columns, is an architectural gem showcasing Greek Neoclassical and Art Deco styles. It was restored by the owners as though their home, and so, from common areas to private bathrooms, guests can enjoy the airy features of a grand mansion together with celebrated interior design pieces and a private art collection. In addition to the nine suites, the mansion hosts an art gallery, an artists' residence and workshop, and two bars. Guests can choose between the garden bar, where they can sip a cocktail in the shade of trees, or the rooftop bar with its open sea views. The hotel is in the aristocratic Vaporia neighbourhood, once the home of shipowners and industrialists. The beach is an eight-minute walk away, as is the town centre and the imposing main square of Hermopolis.
The Aristide has every modern comfort (smart home technology, integrated air-conditioning, and heating, soundproofed plumbing, energy-efficient cladding), but the technology was adapted to the house rather than inflicted on it. Doors have real keys, what looks like wood or stone really is wood or stone, and fake ceilings and walls were considered problems rather than solutions.
All suites have air-conditioning and heating, Wi-Fi, amenities, dimmable lights, the possibility of black-out, soundproofing, under-bed night lights, rain showers, king-size or super-king size beds, solid oak flooring and doors, and speakers that guests can connect to with their personal devices. Almost all suites have five-meter-high ceilings, sea views, balconies or terraces, and private plunge pools or stone bath tubs. All suites are for one or two guests. Due to the architecture of this historical building and for reasons of safety, the hotel can unfortunately not accommodate children under 15 years of age.

Room Descriptions
Dionyssos Suite with Balcony and Free-Standing Bath Tub
The suite is 41 sqm and five meters tall, with the restored original ceiling decorations, three large windows, a Juliette balcony, and views towards the Vaporia area and the garden. Guests can enjoy a free-standing stone bathtub, a rain shower, and a king-size bed with triple mattresses. Furnishings include the Sarfatti 2069/50 chandelier, the Michael Anastassiades light arrangement, Kartell Louis chairs, and by Cocoon tap-ware. The Dionyssos-Pentelicon marble comes in different colours; here it is milky white with pale-green striations. Dionyssos-Pentelicon is the marble of the ancient Acropolis monuments, including the Parthenon, and today it is being used for their restoration. The artworks in the suite are two limited-edition photographs by Nicolas Le Beaun Benic, and a manipulated photograph by Nadia Attura.
Kapandriti Suite with Private Terrace and Plunge Pool & Free-Standing Bath Tub
The suite is 40 sqm and five meters tall, with the restored original ceiling decorations, three large windows, a 25 sqm private garden/veranda with plunge pool, and views towards the Vaporia area. Guests can enjoy a free-standing stone bathtub, a walk-in rain shower, the original elaborate ceramic tiles in the bathroom, and a king-size bed with triple mattresses. Furnishings include the Sarfatti 2069/30 chandelier, the Michael Anastassiades light arrangement, Kartell Ghost chairs, Honore Deco Croisette outdoor armchairs, and by Cocoon tap-ware. The marble in this suite, Kapandriti, is a calcareous marble that is rust-coloured with blue crystals. It is a vivid, dramatic marble that however has comparatively many imperfections (small pockets of plain stone or earth), and its limited availability means that it is not marketed much. It was used for the facade of the Bank of Greece in Athens. The artworks in the suite are two limited-edition manipulated photographs by Nicolas Le Beaun Benic, and a photograph by Antigone Kourakou
The suite is 28 sqm and five meters tall, with the restored original ceiling decorations, one large window and a French window, a private garden/veranda with outdoor shower and plunge pool, a walk-in wardrobe, and views towards the garden and the aristocratic Vaporia area. Guests can enjoy a walk-in rain shower, the elaborate original ceramic tiles, and a king-size bed with triple mattresses. Furnishings include the Sarfatti 2069/30 chandelier, Honore Deco Croisette outdoor armchairs, Svenskt Tenn paper basket, and by Cocoon tap-ware. The marble in this suite, Kirki, is reddish with white veins - a bit like marbled steak. The artwork in the suite is a manipulated photograph by Nikolina Petolas
The suite is 28 sqm and five meters tall, with the restored original ceiling decorations and one large window overlooking the garden. Guests can enjoy a walk-in rain shower, and either twin beds (120cm each) or a super king-size double bed (240cm) with triple mattresses. Furnishings include the Sarfatti 2069/30 chandelier, the Tom Dixon Gold pendant, Kartell Ghost chair, Svenskt Tenn paper basket, and by Cocoon tap-ware. The Eretria marble, from the ancient town of Eretria, is dark-grey with white veins; it is an exceptionally strong and uniform marble. The artwork in the suite is an oil painting by Igor Skaletsky
The suite is 34 sqm and five meters tall, with the restored original ceiling decorations, three large windows, a Juliette balcony, and sea views and views towards the aristocratic Vaporia area and the garden. Guests can enjoy a walk-in rain shower, and either twin beds (120cm each) or a super king-size double bed (240cm) with triple mattresses. Furnishings include the Sarfatti 2069/30 chandelier, Svenskt Tenn paper basket, and by Cocoon tap-ware. The Oasis marble is a beautiful dark green marble from Tinos with patterns that are reminiscent of those of wood. It is a rarer version of the better-known Tinos Green marble. The artwork in the suite is a manipulated photograph by Nikolina Petolas.
The suite is 28 sqm and five meters tall, with the restored original ceiling decorations, three large windows and a generous balcony offering sea views. Guests can enjoy a rain shower and a king-size bed with triple mattresses. Furnishings include the Sarfatti 2069/50 chandelier, Svenskt Tenn paper basket, and by Cocoon tap-ware. The Levadia marble is black with grey veins from Boeotia in central Greece. It is a strong and uniform marble. Spectroscopical studies suggest that it was the marble used for the altar in Apollo’s Temple at Delphi. The artwork in the suite is an oil painting by Igor Skaletsky.
Naxos Suite with Sea View Balcony and Free-Standing Bath Tub
The suite is 40 sqm and five meters tall, with the restored original ceiling decorations, three large windows and a Juliette balcony, and sea views of neighbouring islands Tinos and Mykonos. Guests can enjoy a free-standing stone bathtub and rain shower, and a king-size bed with triple mattresses. Furnishings include the Sarfatti 2069/30 chandelier, the Michael Anastasiades light arrangement, Kartell Louis chairs, and by Cocoon tap-ware. Early birds can catch the sun rise over the sea from the bedroom window. The Naxos marble comes in many grades. The slabs chosen for this suite have large splotches of black: imagine a cow, or a Rorschach test. The pure white Naxos is quite common, but this version is rare, possibly because the black sections are much harder than the white ones and tend to break cutting instruments. Naxos was the marble used for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. The artworks in the suite are two pastel drawings by Dan Laurentiu Arcus and a charcoal drawing by Daniel Cooke.
Tinos Suite with Sea Views and Walk-In Rain Shower
The suite is 29 sqm and five meters tall, with the restored original ceiling decorations, two large windows, and sea views of neighbouring islands Tinos and Mykonos. Guests can enjoy a walk-in rain shower and a king-size bed with triple mattresses. Furnishings include the Sarfatti 2069/30 chandelier, Svenskt Tenn paper basket, and by Cocoon tap-ware. Early birds can watch the sun rise over the sea from their bedroom window. The Tinos marble, from the nearby island of Tinos, is dark green with white swirls. It is a dramatic marble that has been quarried for 5,000 years, and has been used in the construction of Buckingham Palace and the Louvre. The artworks in the suite are two pastel drawings by Dan Laurentiu Arcus.
Pteleos Suite with Sea Views and Private Plunge Pool
The suite is 25 sqm, with two windows and a skylight, a 15 sqm private garden/veranda with a plunge pool and outdoor shower, and sea views of neighbouring islands Tinos and Mykonos. Guests can enjoy a rain shower and a king-size bed with triple mattresses. Furnishings include the Tom Dixon Mirror Ball pendant, Honore Deco Croisette outdoor armchairs, and by Cocoon tapware.Early birds can watch the sun rise from their bedroom window. The Ptelos marble is peach or pink-coloured with black striations. It is rare and no longer commercially available; the mountain has run out. The artworks in the suite are four etchings by Jaco Putker.
